Reclaiming Your Crown:
After Being Judged
Reclaiming Your Crown:
After Being Judged
You are more than what you feel or how people look at you.
The ability to read the room, the glance, the quick head-to-toe scan. You see it. You feel it. And suddenly, you shrink. And that’s when the voice in your head whispers: Unseen. Unwanted.
People judge. According to a Psychology study, 55% of people’s first impression of you is based on how you look. Sadly, we live in a culture obsessed with appearances, status, and curated perfection. But here’s the truth: you are not who they see — you are who God says you are.
Psalm 8:5 says, “You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.”
This world may measure worth by beauty, income, or influence, but God? He already crowned you with glory, not shame. With honor, not humiliation.
You don’t need to shrink. You don’t need to explain. You don’t need to overachieve to feel seen. You just need to reclaim your crown.
Reset Your Posture
Sometimes reclaiming your crown starts physically. Lift your head and breathe. Then, replace the lie with God’s truth:
You are chosen.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
You are loved
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1 ESV
You are His workmanship
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
When you know who you are, you don’t need to prove it. As Charles Stanley said, “We cannot control the actions of others, but we can control our own responses. In every situation, we are called to reflect Christ.”
Reflect and Grow
Sometimes when people judge us, there may be a little truth in what they see. And yes, the truth can hurt. But it can also help us grow. Maybe it’s our words, our attitude, or even how we present ourselves that could be improved.
The Bible says in Proverbs 12:1, “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge.” Correction isn’t condemnation. It’s God’s gentle way of shaping us into better versions of ourselves.
We’re all a work in progress, and that’s a beautiful thing. And if it happens to be a beauty or makeup concern, that’s something I’d love to help with. Feel free to send me a message.
Not everyone will clap when you walk into the room. Not everyone will understand your journey. But that doesn’t mean you’re losing. Walk like a queen. Your crown was never theirs to give.
